  • You must be currently enrolled in a production course to have access to the production equipment. 
  • All appointments (Check-Out, Check-In, and Training) must be made with the Equipment Room at least 48 hours in advance. 
  • Same day checkouts requests will not approved.
  • Do not be late! The system automatically cancels any no-show pick up after one (1) hour. If you are running late for any reason, please contact us!

Policies

Things to Know About Your Checkout Process:

  • The MDC Production Equipment Room uses software called Connect2 for equipment reservations. To create your account, we will need you to log in to Sedter.mdc.edu with your MDC credentials. There you will see you have “no permissions”. Your user permissions will be assigned by adding you to a course. Please make sure to contact the equipment room.
  • You must currently be enrolled in a production course to have access to the production equipment for that semester.
  • Equipment reservations needed to be booked at least 48 hours in advance of when the equipment is needed.
  • No consecutive check-out cycles: reservations must be for non-consecutive check-out cycles. It is not possible to check in equipment in the morning and then check out in the afternoon or the next day.
  • If you do not pick up your reservation at the given time and do not contact us to reschedule, it will be canceled. Your account will temporarily be suspended for one week if you do not pick up your reservation without canceling in advance.
  • It is your responsibility to check and test equipment before leaving the Equipment Room, any issues or damage sustained after that will be the responsibility of the student.
  • You are personally responsible for all equipment you check out and agree to pay any imposed fees for lost or damaged equipment. The account will be temporarily suspended until paid.
  • Any equipment not returned within two days of the due date will result in a longer suspension of equipment privileges and notification of your supervising faculty member or Department Chair. Constant late returns will result in the suspension of equipment privileges.
  • If items are lost or damaged, equipment privileges will be revoked until that item is returned, replaced, repaired or a payment plan has been approved by the Department Chair and Equipment Room Manager.
  • You may not check out equipment and loan it to other students for other projects. There are absolutely no infield transfers.
  • SEDT equipment room resources are not to be used for commercial gains or for projects that are not part of a supported class. Students found to be in violation of this policy will face disciplinary actions, which may include suspension or more limited access to equipment on an approval-only basis for each checkout.
  • Gear for group projects should be checked out and in by ALL team members. Fees will apply for gear mix-ups and cleaning if the equipment is not returned in the same condition, it was sent out.
  • The Equipment Room is not responsible for any personal items left in equipment bags.
  • All users of SEDT equipment must sign the SEDT acknowledgement form.
